The Virginian Memorial Day Soccer Tournament and CERTIFIED TRAVEL ASSOCIATES are pleased to announce that tournament housing reservations will be available on-line for the first time this year.  

The on-line system will allow teams to view information about hotels, including rate, area location and amenities.  A picture of each hotel can be seen, as well.  Using this system, teams are able to select a top hotel choice and four alternate hotel choices, on the next screen. 

 

Teams may also block up to 20 rooms, setting up a personalized account and password.  This account will offer teams access to their reservations 24/7.  The account allows teams to enter individual names on their rooming list, adjust arrival and departure dates, remove and/or add rooms, and enter credit card information for individual rooms.  All of this can be done either at the time of the initial hotel request, or teams can log in later to fill in their detailed information.

IMPORTANT:  All teams must review their hotel requests once field assignments are posted.  Any adjustment in hotel choice must be made by April 4, 2008.  Contact Certified Travel directly if a hotel change is needed based on field assignment after the deadline.   

Clubs requiring a large block of rooms for multiple teams should contact Certified Travel for special assistance.  

In addition, Certified Travel Associates is a full service travel agency and can handle all your travel needs, big and small. They can book airline reservations for a family or for a group, they can arrange for charter buses, rental cars - whatever your travel needs, Certified Travel Associates can be your one stop shop.

For the 2008 tournament, Certified Travel will have available tournament cancellation insurance which will cover your team’s hotel cancellation charges if the tournament cancels in its entirety because of weather conditions.

Certified Travel, now in its fifth year with the Virginian, has extensive experience in tournament housing coordination, especially in the Northern Virginia area. Due to the difficulties with securing rooms for the tournament over the busy Memorial Day weekend, we have instituted a policy requiring all out-of-area teams to reserve their housing through the official tournament housing agency, Certified Travel. This decision is in the best interest of tournament participants as it will allow us to offer a wider selection of hotels in prime locations and assure that housing accommodations are available for all teams. If your team does not reserve your housing through Certified Travel, you will forfeit your eligibility to participate in the Virginian.

It is strongly advised that teams book hotel rooms at the same time the team applies to play in the tournament. Although field assignments will not be posted until mid- March, by contacting Certified Travel, you will be placing your team on a waiting list with Certified Travel that will be treated on a first come, first serve basis.  PLEASE DO NOT wait until acceptances are posted during mid-April to make your hotel reservations with Certified Travel. Most, if not all hotels, will be sold out at that time. If your team is not accepted into the tournament you may cancel your hotel reservations without penalty provided you contact Certified Travel by email or fax at least 35 days prior to your requested arrival date.
